Bringing together writers and their craft.
In July of 2019, Sarah founded the Writers’ Studio in Corpus Christi. It’s a community-based literary arts education program, whose mission is to provide quality, creative writing instruction to the Texas Coastal Bend and beyond. In its first year, Writers’ Studio has brought together over 150 students, building a vibrant, inclusive community of writers. Our logo is a paperclip with a thick stack of papers, signifying our goals to bring writers together and to inspire them to produce pages and pages of work.
We offer free monthly classes (now online) taught by an incredible volunteer staff of professional writers. Each class session provides a lesson on the craft of writing and studio time to practice. We use our time in the Writers’ Studio as a true creative studio. Like the artist’s studio where paint gets splashed around or a recording studio where musicians jam out, we play and experiment with words.
